You’ve completed your thesis.  Congratulations!  We want to make sure there’s a record of your hard work.  Here’s what you need to do to submit your thesis to the College Archives:

  • Release Form

You and your advisor(s) must sign a release form, which specifies the administration of intellectual property rights (copyright), access, and reproduction of the thesis.  Contact us if you have questions about the release form.

Attach the release form as a separate file, as a pdf, when you submit your thesis.

  • College Archives Copy

    Submission Deadline:

    • Fall: 5pm on the last day of Winter Study
    • Spring: 5pm on the last day of final exams

We'll do our best to get your thesis loaded into Unbound before graduation, so you can show it off to your family and friends.

Submit your thesis electronically, as a pdf.  All print and electronic copies should have a title page.  Make sure to include a release form, as a separate file. Please include any additional parts of your thesis such as data, audio, video, etc.

Send one email that includes all parts of your thesis, as separate attachments, to [email protected]. If file(s) are too large to submit as an email attachment, please use Google Drive to share the file(s) with [email protected]

    Direct questions to Walter Komorowski.

  • Departmental Copy

A first semester thesis must be submitted to the department in acceptable form by 5pm on the final day of the Winter Study period. A second semester thesis or year-long thesis must be submitted to the department in acceptable form for final grading no later than one week preceding the first day of the final exam period (spring semester). Please note that individual departments may have stricter deadlines than those mentioned above. Printed copies of the thesis to be bound for the students advisor or department should be turned in to Sawyer Library's Collection Management Department (2nd floor). Collection Management will accept printed copies to be bound until 4pm each day during the week of final exams, excluding weekends. Include a signed copy of the release form with each departmental copy. Binding of printed copies is charged to the department. Make sure the format of the thesis is correct for binding.

  • Personal Copy

Students are responsible for printing personal copies and the cost of binding. To bind your thesis, bring the printed copy to Sawyer Library's Collection Management Department (2nd floor, tel: 413-597-4236). Students will be asked to select a binding color for each of their personal copies. Binding of personal copies must be pre-paid with cash or personal check. Credit cards and cash cards are not accepted. Costs vary each year, so please check with the Collection Management Department for current prices. Collection Management will accept printed copies to be bound until 4pm each day during the week of final exams, excluding weekends. Because binding is handled by an outside vendor, bound personal copies will be mailed to the student as soon as they are ready. Make sure the format of the thesis is correct for binding.

  • Science and Psychology Theses

Submit your thesis electronically.  If you created a poster as part of your thesis, please submit it, as a pdf, along with your thesis and release form.

The library will produce printed copies of theses in the sciences and Psychology and make them available at Schow Science Library.
